1. Last Minute Transplanting. It's not too late to move shrubs if you didn't do it during their winter dormancy. Just be careful not to disturb perennials that are still underground.
2. Edge lawn beds now, before the grass starts to fill in and makes your job harder later on.
3. Pressure wash slippery moss from driveways, walkways, and patios. While you're at it, you can pressure wash hand tools, tarps, and lawnmowers too!
4. To protect them from insects and fungal diseases, spray fruit trees with Dormant Oil before the buds break open.
5. Divide bulbs and perennials. Cut back ferns, epimedium, and ornamental grasses.
6. Shear winter heathers when the flowers fade and prune winter-flowering jasmine.
7. Prune shrubs grown for winter-interest like dogwoods, salix and winterberry holly
8. Add a soil amendments.
9. Plant summer-flowering bulbs like lilies, gladiolas, allium and tuberous begonias.
10. Maximize the efficiency of your watering program by installing below-ground or drip irrigation.
