CLIFFSIDE PARADISE
What a challenge this site was! Project Manager, Mike Keddie of YYJ Contracting, did an amazing job of taking a shear slope of rock and creating a useable, tiered garden with living space. We had the pleasure to work with Mike and designer James Darnell (Land Story Design Associates) to decorate this landscape with plants. The clients weren’t afraid of colour. Bright vibrant colours do well to contrast the boulders. The main path is lined with Scotch moss, followed by a mixture of Japanese blood grass and white-flowering iberis. The patio holds a lounge area, hot tub, outdoor shower and a 3-tier water feature. Fragrant flowers throughout spring and summer give scented interest to the garden. The annual flower displays in big bright ceramic pots bring a tropical feeling to the patio space in the summer.
